Black Walnut Hollow Form Globe.
Amazing contrast between the dark heartwood and the light sapwood.
This globe has a spectacular natural bark inclusion that definitely adds to overall character of the piece.
The form was turned from a whole log that puts the heartwood running through the center and is completely surrounded by the sapwood.
Finished with several coats of oil/urethane blend to allow all the figure and character of the wood to “pop” and come alive. Once cured it was buffed and then hand rubbed with a museum quality wax giving the piece a perfect sheen and real wood feel.
The piece measures 10″ wide and stands 6″ tall.
