Poplar wood comes from a what is commonly called a Tulip Tree.
White Oak Salad Bowl.
More specifically this is made with what is known in the south as Water Oak.
The tree came from the Country Club of Charleston which was hit by lightning during the 2019 Women’s US Open golf tournament.
